Newcap Food Pantries

Program Description:

The Newcap Food Pantries Program is for emergency food supplies for households in a crisis situation. Newcap food pantries serve individuals in each county with the food from the TEFAP program and donated food. One of the requirements of a pantry to receive TEFAP food is that they must match pound for pound TEFAP food. Our pantries must participate in food drives within our communities to accomplish their requirement.

Eligibility Requirements:

Recipients must be Wisconsin residents and live in the pantry’s service area. Clients must have an income at or below 185% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines established for their household size. Income is determined by self-declaration. Participants must show a picture ID each time they visit the food pantry. Application Process:

Pantry participants are asked to fill out a form and provide proof of residency, the number of dependents, names and birthdates of each household member (for a child that can be an immunization card, birth certificate, report card, etc.), and valid identification. Homeless persons may use the address of a local service agency.
