Carol’s Weatherization Story

Carol, a disabled homeowner requested Weatherization services because she knew she needed to have some improvements done on her home and could not afford this on her limited fixed income. 

A comprehensive Energy Audit was done on her home and as a result, air sealing was performed on the home and insulation was installed in the attic and sidewalls. Carol also had a 29-year-old inefficient furnace that was replaced with a high efficiency sealed combustion unit. These energy conservation measures that were completed will provide Carol with an annual energy cost savings of $302.00. 

Health and safety measures were also completed on the residence which included replacing the direct vent water heater that was back drafting with a power vented water heater. The dryer vent was properly vented out, a bathroom exhaust fan was installed as well as smoke alarms and a carbon monoxide detector. 

Carol was very appreciative of the Weatherization services she was provided and stated everyone that worked at her home was pleasant and explained what they were doing.
